Focusing on the studies of terms tailored for the sector, the course plan combines the analysis of food and beverage marketing, with the skills required to plan socio-cultural projects designed to valorise land resources as well as planning the development and distribution models for Italian food and wine and gastronomical excellences worldwide.
The knowledge of at least two languages at interpreter and translator level, refined by mastering a lexicon targeted to marketing, communication and businesses management, prepare the Unicollege student to become a future professional figure able to work for small businesses as well as for multinationals in the food and wine industry, to manage the planning of entrepreneurship paths and to develop web solutions.
This specialization will enable you to address your knowledge and making it interesting from the get-go for sectors ‘organizations wishing to engage with the foreign scene, but you could also become a Media sector producer and a developer of campaigns for the valorisation and protection of the certified “Made in Italy”.
Upon completion of the three year program in Oenology and Food Farming Science, you will work as:
- Translator and P.R. for organizations in the food and wine industry.
- Consultant for the promotion and development of food and drinks neighbourhoods and of production chains.
- Expert for the development of E.U. and non- E.U markets.
- Publicist and Producer of newspapers in the organic food and beverage sector.
- Events planner on a national and international scale for the promotion of food and wine excellences of Italian production.
- Expert translator for the development of campaigns promoting sustainable and responsible consumption.
- Operator for management’s internationalization and for the brands of the food & beverage industry.
- New markets researcher and responsible for the creation of intercultural projects in the food and beverage sector.
This is your study plan to work as a linguistic mediator in Oenology and the Food-Farming System. However, first of all, you will need to decide whether you wish to graduate as a translator or also as an interpreter.
Translator and interpreter, in fact, are two different professions. For this reason Unicollege offers teachings, labs and training specific to and for each professional figure. Follow the path to suit your ambitions.
You will analyse a written text, and you will convert it to another language, making sure the translated version conveys with the meaning of the original as clearly as possible.

Learning a language is a question of technique. With these mediation techniques, Unicollege will teach you to hone it like no one else.
Active and passive translation
You will learn to convert a written text from the source language into the target language (active) and from the target language into the source language (passive).
Consecutive interpreting
You will learn a specific note-taking technique that will enable you to translate and repeat the speech just heard.
Dialogue interpreting
With this technique you will be able to be the third person who mediates and interpret what is said by two interlocutors who do not speak the same language, in situations such as work meetings, business trips or company visits. Without technical aids.
Simultaneous interpreting (optional lab)
By enrolling to our labs, equipped with soundproof booths, you will learn how to translate and repeat in real time any speech made in a foreign language.
In order to register for the exam, you must attend at least 75% of the yearly total number of hours of every single teaching. Lectures will take place from Monday to Friday.
