Become the Fashion Buyer of the future. By enrolling to this innovative Master financed by Regione Lombardia, you will have the opportunity to graduate as a Fashion Buyer, one of the market’s most in-demand role, and entering the world of work through internships in some of the most renowned fashion houses.
The Master will take place in Milan, in the Adiuva’s offices in Piazzale Cadorna, starting in February 2019, and it is the result of the partnership between Unicollege, the publishing company Nuova Libra and the patronage of Cav. Mario Boselli, the honorary President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.
For the Lombardy region’s residents requesting financing, the actual cost will be just 500 Euro.
The Course aims to examine the role of the buyer within the fashion industry and analysing it from various point of views relating to offer complexification, to the increasing means of distribution and the fragmentation of consumption. Through a constant balancing between the bases of economics and marketing and digital Medias’ theories and techniques, the master outlines the various facets of a role that connects the production side with the distribution one and is well aware of the communication and consumption processes of the sector.
The course is directed to private sector’s professionals and freelancers, nonetheless to university graduates wanting to improve their own competences in the fashion industry.
OBJECTIVES
- Learning the main operations’ dynamics of the fashion industry, especially the products’ distribution and products’ sales fields, and in terms of understanding and learning purchasing techniques and market’s analysis.
- Acquiring the competences necessary to understand the evolving trends of the referring market, while giving special attention to the current renewed practices of online distribution.
- Acquiring the knowledge to understand the current media and digital scenario especially in relation to the dynamics of social networking platforms.
SUPERVISOR
The Master Supervisor is PhD. Marta Martina, an expert of fashion and Medias relations, especially of the analysis of trends and consumption realities, communication and valorisation. As a journalist and a publicist, she is the editor and the project manager of the trade-publishing house Nuova Libra, where she develops multimedia projects for companies in the textile and clothing sector. Her academic and journalistic research’s interests are directed to the fashion system’s analysis, in relation to the complex international scenarios, to the relationship between fashion economics and product representation practices. PhD. in Theatrical and Film Studies at the Department of Visual, Performing and Medial Arts at the University of Bologna, she is a contract professor at IULM University in Milan, where she deals with the relationships between the arts and the Medias and the communication strategies for enhancing cultural heritage. Among her latest publications, an essay about Italian fashion publishing, released in the international scientific journal “Film, Fashion & Consumption” (Intellect, 2016).
TEACHING STAFF
The teaching staff, managed by the Supervisor, is made of subject-matter professional experts, with a significant curriculum of specialized trainers.
The career opportunities upon completion of the Master programme include: commercial departments of fashion companies, communication and distribution departments of fashion companies and showrooms, purchasing department of large retail chains, purchasing offices of large and/or medium online shops, trading fairs and organizations such as cooperatives and small and medium consortiums, freelancing for the commerce and retail sectors.
The internships included in the study plan of the Master will be undertaken within organizations / private companies suggested by the School among the ones cooperating to the development of the Master or within organizations / private companies directly chosen by the students.
The registrar’s office reserves the right to make the final decision about the allocation of internships for each student, the submissions for the organizations/companies proposed by students and any other requests of validation.
The determinant criteria for decisions will be the curriculum vitae et studiorum, the academic and the attendance performance throughout the course.

- Attendance: compulsory, the minimum required to achieve college credits is 90% attendance for Module I, 75% for Module II

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or from the old order (ante D.M. 509/99). Undergraduates may be accepted sub-judice to the condition of graduating from university at least 30 days prior to the courses’ start date.
FEES AND INCENTIVES
Regione Lombardia Financing
Regione Lombardia contributes € 4.000,00 towards the cost of the Master for residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, regardless of their employment situation (unemployed and employed). Our Office is available to activate the necessary procedures.
This way the actual cost of the Master to be covered by the participants is € 500, 00 (or less in case a further discount is applicable on this figure). More information on such opportunity is available on the Regione Lombardia website.
Fee
The Master’s fee is € 4.500,00 of which:
- Regione Lombardia’s share: € 4.000,00
- Fee payable by the registrants: € 500,00 (if discountable)
The fee payable by the registrants includes a pre-enrolment fee of € 100,00, to be paid when registering, and the remaining balance of € 700,00 (or €400,00 if any discount) to be paid by 31st January 2019, which can also be funded through Prestitempo ( a division of Deutsche Bank Group),and that can be activated by our Admission Office.
Bank financing
Thanks to an agreement between the School and the household credit leader Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group), it is possible to finance, at very good rates, all or part of the Master programme. Our admin office is available to prepare the necessary paperwork and proceedings as soon as possible.
Applicable discount
A discount of € 300.00 on the registrants ‘payable fee is applicable for applications received by 14th September 2018.
The pre-enrolment fee of € 100.00 must be paid when registering for the enrolment in the program. The remaining € 700.00 (or € 400.00 if the discount is applicable) must be paid by 31st January 2019 and can be funded through Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group).
For non-residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, the remaining balance of
€ 4.000,00 can be paid in two instalments, the first one of € 2.000,00 by 4th March 2019, the second one of € 2.000,00 by 3rd May 2019.
