Master
The Course includes the study of at least two foreign languages and examines the topics relating to resolving the communication difficulties among different cultures. The disciplinary transversality, also including areas of sociology, law and psychology, aims to make the operator capable of interacting using different languages, in order to create a common network with the purpose of protecting the migrating subject, assisting him with red tape and facilitating his social integration.
OBJECTIVES
- Acquiring competences on the socio-cognitive and pragmatic-linguistic aspects of intercultural communication in two languages, French and English, which are used in specialised contexts within law, socio/political and economic studies in terms of migration, human rights and asylum seeking.
- Improving the understanding and translating of forensic texts and of migrants’ requests, in order to create a link between linguistics and the forensic aspects of immigration.
- Providing expertise in legislations regarding the right of immigration in order to communicate them to asylum seekers in an easily understandable manner, while comparing the local regulations to the socio-cultural principles of the country of origin of the various migrant communities.
SUPERVISOR
The Master supervisor is prof. Andrea Bienati, Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences and a Law graduate, Director of Studies at SSML Unicollege Mantua, professor of political-sociological areas’ subjects. In Italy and abroad, he is known as an expert of topics relating to genocides, prejudice, social emergencies caused by the migration phenomenon and a specialist in the planning of multicultural interventions for cooperation and interaction, operating for public and private bodies, in Italy as well as abroad. He participates in the main bodies and institutional comparison tables relating to interreligious and intercultural dialogue, migration, study programmes for schools of all levels, prisons and religious travels. His study and research areas, in the Italian and the external field, relate to the development of interreligious and intercultural cooperation programmes, to the social history of the Holocaust, to deportations and genocides; criminology, socio-criminological studies of crimes against humanity, of genocides, of restorative justice. He is an expert of the History of Eastern Europe, in particular of Poland and Byelorussia, of Jewish History in Eastern Europe, of the History of political and communication thinking; of the Sociology of Medias; of the prevention Policies for social unrest and bullying.
TEACHING STAFF
The teaching staff, managed by the Supervisor, is made of subject-matter professional experts, with a significant curriculum of specialized trainers.
Public and private bodies, at local and national level, operating in the reception and assistance of immigrants, such as ONLUS, ONG, religious associations, police authorities, tribunals, councils.
The internships included in the study plan of the Master will be undertaken within organizations / private companies suggested by the School among the ones cooperating to the development of the Master or within organizations / private companies directly chosen by the students.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or from the old order (ante D.M. 509/99). Applications from other professionals admitted to the role of CTP (Technical consultant of the Party) may be evaluated. Undergraduates may be accepted sub-judice to the condition of graduating from university at least 30 days prior to the courses’ start date.
FEES AND INCENTIVES
Regione Lombardia Financing
Regione Lombardia contributes € 4.000,00 towards the cost of the Master for residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, regardless of their employment situation (unemployed and employed). Our Office is available to activate the necessary procedures to request financing from Regione Lombardia.
This way the actual cost of the Master to be covered by the participants is € 500, 00 (or less in case a further discount is applicable on this figure). More information on such opportunity is available from our Admission office or on the Regione Lombardia website.
Fee
The Master’s fee is € 4.500,00 of which:
- Regione Lombardia’s share: € 4.000,00
- Fee payable by the registrants: € 500,00 (or discounted if applicable)
The fee payable by the registrants includes a pre-enrolment fee of € 100,00, to be paid when registering, and the remaining balance of € 400,00 (or €200,00 if discountable) to be paid by 7th September 2018, which can also be funded through Prestitempo ( a division of Deutsche Bank Group),and that can be activated by our Admission Office.
Bank financing
Thanks to an agreement between the School and the household credit leader Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group), it is possible to finance, at very good rates, all or part of the Master programme. Our admin office is available to prepare the necessary paperwork and proceedings as soon as possible.
Applicable discount
A discount of € 200.00 on the registrants ‘payable fee is applicable for applications received by 31st May 2018.
The pre-enrolment fee of € 100.00 must be paid when registering for the enrolment in the program. The remaining € 400.00 (or € 200.00 if the discount is applicable) must be paid by 7th September 2018 and can be funded through Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group).
For non-residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, the remaining balance of € 4.000,00 can be paid in two instalments, the first one of € 2.000,00 by 29th October 2018, the second one of € 2.000,00 by 30th November 2018.

The programme is open to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or from the old order (ante D.M. 509/99). The maximum number of participants is 35, the minim number required to run the Master is 20. The Master programme offers 60 ECTS. The application forms, which must be submitted by 13:00 hrs. on 7th September 2018, will be examined by the admission office by 10th September, and the results immediately communicated to the applicants.
