The Cyber Security & Data Protection Course is addressed to those who, because of their professions, want to improve and update their knowledge, models and methodologies for the prevention of cybercrimes, outlining the most recent counter-strategies at international level.
Companies’ awareness of the importance of personal data protection will cause, in a very short period, the rise in the demand for expert professional figures. The Level I Master in Cyber Security & Data Protection addresses this requirement and presents a study plan based on the most advanced models and methodologies for the prevention of cybercrimes, a general overview of the most recent counter-strategies at international level and the study of the more relevant legal aspects. The Master, thanks to its partnership with high profile organizations, operating in the cybersecurity and the telecommunication fields, will enable the participants to enhance the programme with the analysis of real cases and to get in touch with the industry’s future innovations development.
OBJECTIVES
- Gaining/improving risk evaluation techniques for the information system, in regards to threats and vulnerability.
- Introducing security standards and planning updates to reduce and/or eliminate risks.
- Implementing principles of safe programming for the development of safe systems.
- Implementing detection and prevention techniques for unauthorised network intrusions.
- Implementing encryption techniques.
- Examining the legal aspects of recent European directives (NIS Directive), and certification procedures.
- Updating methodologies and behaviours to the International Best Practice.
SUPERVISOR
The supervisor for the Cyber Security & Data Protection Master is prof. Eng. Gianluca Cavallari, an Information Technology Engineering consultant. His comprehensive professional background – and the current operational roles he is holding in the field– makes him an expert of the wide variety of issues of the ICT industry, having fulfilled the roles of Solution Architect, Project Manager, ITSM/ITIL Consultant, ICT Director and CEO in ICT organizations.
He has worked as a consultant for Pirelli Information Systems for the implementation of a data-collection system and an integrated Kanban with different systems and corporate production processes. For Italtel S.p.A. in the Research and Development department of the Business Unit Radio Mobile and EMOS & Radio Net-Server ATM/SDH/PDH projects; for Infostrada SpA and Wind Telecommunication SpA for the planning and development of the Traffic Management System – Pre-Billing e Revenue Assurance. He is currently collaborating with the Start-up Innovative IdeaaS for the planning, revision and integration of information systems /IoT for PA, collecting societies, analysis and cross data, and Port Authorities
TEACHING STAFF
The teaching staff, managed by the Supervisor, is made of subject-matter professional experts, with a significant curriculum of specialized trainers.

The Master opens up career opportunities as IT Manager and Network Specialist, as an expert of applications and IT networks’ security analysis, as planning and implementing applications and secure IT networks expert, expert of cyber-attacks analysis, technical consultant of the party (CTP) and technical office consultant (CTU).

ICT Security Specialist: Conducting audits on the performance of the IT system in use – Examining the level of cybersecurity of the developed system

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or from the old order (ante D.M. 509/99). Applications from other professionals admitted to the role of CTP (Technical consultant of the Party) and professionals with proven computer expertise may be evaluated. Undergraduates may be accepted sub-judice to the condition of graduating from university at least 30 days prior to the courses’ start date.
FEES AND INCENTIVES
Regione Lombardia Financing
Regione Lombardia contributes € 4.000,00 towards the cost of the Master for residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, regardless of their employment situation (unemployed and employed). Our Office is available to activate the necessary procedures to request financing from Regione Lombardia.
This way the actual cost of the Master to be covered by the participants is € 500, 00 (or less in case a further discount is applicable on this figure). More information on such opportunity is available from our Admission office or on the Regione Lombardia website.
Fee
The Master’s fee is € 4.500,00 of which:
- Regione Lombardia’s share: € 4.000,00
- Fee payable by the registrants: € 500,00 (or discounted if applicable)
The fee payable by the registrants includes a pre-enrolment fee of € 100,00, to be paid when registering, and the remaining balance of € 400,00 (or €200,00 if discountable) to be paid by 7th September 2018, which can also be funded through Prestitempo ( a division of Deutsche Bank Group),and that can be activated by our Admission Office.
Bank financing
Thanks to an agreement between the School and the household credit leader Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group), it is possible to finance, at very good rates, all or part of the Master programme. Our admin office is available to prepare the necessary paperwork and proceedings as soon as possible.
Applicable discount
A discount of € 200.00 on the registrants ‘payable fee is applicable for applications received by 31st May 2018.
The pre-enrolment fee of € 100.00 must be paid when registering for the enrolment in the program. The remaining € 400.00 (or € 200.00 if the discount is applicable) must be paid by 7th September 2018 and can be funded through Prestitempo (Deutsche Bank Group).
For non-residents and/or domiciled in Lombardy, the remaining balance of € 4.000,00 can be paid in two instalments, the first one of € 2.000,00 by 29th October 2018, the second one of € 2.000,00 by 30th November 2018.
The programme is open to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or from the old order (ante D.M. 509/99). The maximum number of participants is 35, the minim number required to run the Master is 20. The Master programme offers 60 ECTS. The application forms, which must be submitted by 13:00 hrs. on 7th September 2018, will be examined by the admission office by 10th September, and the results immediately communicated to the applicants.
